History

Gap International was founded in 1978 by Ms. Pontish Yeramyan. The original mission of the company was to provide cross-cultural training for executives and their families relocating overseas to accelerate their cultural integration and impact their productivity.

Simultaneously, in 1980, Ms. Yeramyan began a relationship with the Wharton School Applied Research Center, bringing her expertise in cultural integration to the management of family-held corporations, causing breakthroughs in alignment and productivity through communication between owners, family, and non-family management.

By 1985, Gap's consulting practice expanded to include public corporations, partnering with executives and teams to produce breakthrough results. The methodologies that were developed focused on breakthrough thinking, leadership, team and high performance and made a lasting difference to the productivity of thousands of executives. During this period, Gap International won two Inc. 500 awards for being one of the fastest growing companies in America.

As Gap International has continued to grow, we have actively invested in our own research and development to meet the emerging needs of our clients. We have invented a wide array of tools, diagnostics and programs all focused on developing the capability to deliver sustainable growth. We have also continued to expand our consultant base both domestically and internationally, working with leaders of corporations and government agencies in multiple capacities around the world.
